English not official in Madagascar[edit]

It has been during a short period of two and a half years for rather autocratic reasons but abandonned again in 2010. To be corrected on the map. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.138.142.205 (talk) 13:47, 06 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected now. NNW 09:32, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Morocco[edit]

Morocco (including the Southern Provinces aka Western Sahara) now has two nationwide official languages: Arabic and Tamazight. Could you change the map accordingly? —LiliCharlie (talk) 15:00, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. NNW 15:25, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. (Tausend Dank.) You are incredibly fast. —LiliCharlie (talk) 16:04, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Afrikaans and Spanish[edit]

Why does the map include these two as individual languages rather than summing them up under "other languages"? All other languages treated individually are used in several countries, but these two are only official in one country each. I mean, I'm really not one for extreme political correctness, but this simply doesn't seem justified, particularly regarding Spanish, which is such a marginal language in Africa. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 93.206.137.105 (talk) 15:46, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That's almost right, though not quite. Since Namibia became independent from South Africa, Afrikaans has been official only in the latter country, though far more Namibians speak native Afrikaans than native English, which is now the only official language of the country. Spanish is official in Equatorial Guinea as well as the African territories of Spain (Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla), though there is also a significant Spanish speaking minority in Morocco. —LiliCharlie (talk) 16:13, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Errors[edit]

Seychelles is missing. São Tomé and Príncipe is coloured incorrectly. Parts of Spain, Portugal and France are shown but St. Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha are ignored. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2607:F2C0:95C9:C000:A452:8637:7BC5:4B31 (talk) 08:16, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Botswana[edit]

Wikipedia gives inconsistent information:
  • w:Botswana: The official language of Botswana is English although Setswana is widely spoken across the country.
  • w:Tswana language: Tswana is an official language and lingua franca of Botswana.
I don't know what's correct. NNW 07:23, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rwanda is not a lake...[edit]

That's right. :o) NNW 18:16, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Label/legend[edit]

Would it be possible to add the label/legend to the figure itself? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.104.142.198 (talk) 04:03, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Possible but not a good idea because this file is used in lots of projects with different languages. NNW 16:25, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Add circles for the small nations[edit]

It's not possible to see which languages are official in all the island nations like Comoros, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe and the Canary Islands.

Also, the wikipedia article says Mauritius has on official language, not English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akeosnhaoe (talk • contribs) 07:35, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
