Mean anomaly should not be from the focal point... that 'M' on the figure should be the 'true' anomaly, usually denoted 'v'

Strictly speaking, that is indeed correct. However, the point of the figure is to illustrate the standard orbital elements, to which the true anomaly does not belong. We're damned either way, since the mean anomaly does not have geometric meaning. Urhixidur 18:24, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
