I'm interested in the history of letterforms. The lettering on this map does not look eighteenth century. It looks a century later to me-it could easily be published for the centenary. The sans-serif "reference to the plan" and the Tuscan lettering on "Ontario & Oswego" both look very nineteenth century. Notice that it says "1756" and "from Gentleman's Magazine, 1757"-that sounds as if it's refererring back to a past time. Blythwood (talk) 21:48, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Found it. According to this dealer it's "from Documentary History of the State of New York, published in 1850, based upon an original published circa 1757." Blythwood (talk) 22:12, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
