I doubt this has been a (the?) model for the composition. On the linked picture, personified Liberty guides the people in battle. On our pic, victorious Reynard places his flag on some sort of hilltop while other animals look up to him praisingly. Simple because the fox is holding a flag doesn't make any other picture on which somebody is also holding a flag a model for the composition. Are there any sources for the claim that the illustrator did use the painting by Dealcroix? --Jonas kork 08:32, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
