This map is bloody inaccurate. I know Red Army occupied our country but Russian is definitely not spoken in the Czech Republic and Poland. This applies also for Vietnam. -- Darwinek 16:10, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

this map totally sucksass..[edit]

like, what does it mean 'indicates an area where russian is spoken'? if you made a similar map about the prevalence of English would the whole world be green or something?!! but i saw a more recent (i guess) version made by Cleavelander and it was much more comprehensive that is the Baltic States and Central Europe where excluded..which is like, DUH!yea the newer version seems really corresponding in comparison with this..

Source? Spoken by how many, in some of those areas?[edit]

Almost any part of the world with a large university or high-tech community might have a few Russian speakers, but is it really meaningful to put countries with tiny numbers of speakers of Russian on this map with the colored background? -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 13:18, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not, this map is nonsensical and should be changed. It provides no information whatsoever in its current form that is not provided by the main file on Russian language. Endrū Hejs (talk) 09:52, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As a suggestion I think our file on the proportion of french speakers by country can be a good guide for improvement.
