Actual discussion[edit]

I do not know what this talk page looked like before User:Denniss deleted it, but I have a proposal, which is inline with the conventions for disputed territories, and this source [1] which specifically says.

A signing ceremony Tuesday between Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister of Crimea and the mayor of the city of Sevastopol made it official, the Kremlin said in a statement. The territory, ceded to Ukraine in the Soviet era, is now part of the Russian Federation, it said.

The annexation -- which had not been expected to occur until Russian lawmakers met later this week -- was met with a howl of protest in Kiev, where Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk called it "a robbery on an international scale."

This is quoted directly from the article. I have a file that would make Crimea light green, showing it disputed, and also, the original file I put up for Crimea being in dark green, has the grid and shading not appearing, so it is a bad file anyway. Like I said, and what would be in line with the conventions, a light green shaded Crimea is the correct way. Until this gets sorted out, this stays protected to administers only, however.—SPESH531Other 19:32, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the Wikipedia orthographic maps conventions shown here the conventions needs to be applied in this map involving the disputed territory of Crimea.--ImageUploader12345 (talk) 22:46, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
