Text rendering[编辑]

That Arabic doesn't look like it's been rendered correctly. Look at "Libya" and compare it to the version on the NTC page... 76.117.247.55 (talk) 01:10, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]

It's the font that's at fault, but as I know nothing about Arabic I don't know which font to use to render it correctly. From what I can glean from the 'net getting a decent unicode font that renders correctly on Western machines is quite difficult. I've downloaded an open source font called Scheherazade which is supposed to be quite good so I'll try it tomorrow. The whole image has to be done from scratch anyway. --The Pink Oboe (talk) 01:22, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]

Please, don't revert it to the version done by User:The Pink Oboe because the Arabic letters are completely wrong in that version of the logo. User:A.h. king • User_talk:A.h. king 18:37, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]

That could have been helpful if you'd followed it up with what they should be. This is the text I've been working from "The text is: المجلس الوطني الانتقالي (al-majlis al-waṭanī al-intiqālī, "The Transitional National Council") and ‏ليبيا (Lībiyā "Libya")". So is this right or wrong? So now, are you going to help even more by saying what the best font to use is, or are you going to stick with criticism? --The Pink Oboe (talk) 19:36, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]
Unless he explains what is wrong with the arabic text and how to correct it, after a while we should just revert him. Saying "it's wrong" doesn't help us at all in trying to correct the file and make it both accurate and of good quality. The current trace is horrible. The version that User:The Pink Oboe uploaded is wrong because the Arabic letters are not attached to each other and Arabic letters are written right-to-left and not left-to-right. User:A.h. king • User_talk:A.h. king 12:55, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]
Still not helpful. Is the above Arabic text correct or not? I can't write Arabic so I simply pasted the above text into the image. I don't have a clue whether it's left to right or vice versa. So are you going to stop whinging or are you going to help get the correct text in there? The existing image doesn't have any text, it's merely an autotraced series of shapes that approximate the written word. --The Pink Oboe (talk) 14:07, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]
The Arabic text is wrong! The Arabic name of the NTC should be written like this: "المجلس الوطني الإنتقالي", and as you see on the image you created the letters are not attached to each other properly, and they are written in a vice-verse way. Pasting will not help, because Arabic letters are not properly supported in some image editing programs and some only edit properly if you have an Arabic keyboard. In Arabic, letters are not separated from each other, but ATTACHED completely to each other. Are you understanding what I'm saying?! Finally you've said something helpful, ie you confirmed the first quoted Arabic text was correct. I already knew the other stuff. Ordinarily one cannot use Arabic text in Illustrator unless one is using the Middle East edition of Creative Suite. But being the smooth fucker that I am, I found a workround that will allow me to paste r-l Arabic writing into a document. I then outlined it so it would appear correct to anyone viewing it. --The Pink Oboe (talk) 11:50, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]
Thanks for correcting it! But you wrote "المجلس الوطني الإنتقال" and not "المجلس الوطني الإنتقالي"... User:A.h. king • User_talk:A.h. king 17:58, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]

Hopefully this new version is the final version. To me both Arabic texts looked the same, but after about 10 mins I spotted the difference. I don't know how the mistake arose as I just copied and pasted the text from here. --The Pink Oboe (talk) 21:00, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[回复]
