Storming of the Bastille::
The citizens of Paris led by the Gardes Françaises on 14 July 1789. Building of this fortification commenced in 1369 during the reign of Charles V. Hugues Aubriot, a native of Dijon and Provost of Paris, laid the first stone. Construction was completed in 1382. Aubriot was born in Dijon. He became one of the first prisoners of the Bastille, imprisoned under the pretext of heresy. He was liberated by the Parisians during the troubles that stirred the capital, and escaped to his motherland.

The image page is not protected (and has never been). You can edit it yourself. --Mormegil (talk) 15:36, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
FYI it is currently cascade-protected for being on the English Wikipedia main page. howcheng {chat} 16:15, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Broken[edit]

Something is seriously broken with this "picture"; it shows nothing other than an empty white box currently.

Yup, I'm not a wikimedia contrib/expert, but I can't tell what happened to create this 0x0 image, and at the same time somehow get listed as a featured image on wikipedia and not get caught.
Another version of the same original source image can be seen here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Storming_the_bastille.jpg

It only became this 0x0 image recently, sometime after July 14 (it made an appearance on the en-WP main page as picture of the day for Bastille Day). howcheng {chat} 18:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
