Response to Size reduction and PD query

[edit]

The reduction of size does not change the resolution of the image - the earlier version is also low resoltion (dots (pixels) are visible).

The image is of 1934, by Indian copyright laws - 60 yrs have passed and so it is PD - the journal source is also mentioned for access and verification. Answer already placed on "Ogre's" talk page SP 05:58, 24 August 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pramanick (talk)

As rightly understood by Magog the Ogre the Indian copyright act says the following: " ... The general rule is that copyright lasts for 60 years. In the case of original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the 60-year period is counted from the year following the death of the author. In the case of cinematograph films, sound recordings, photographs, posthumous publications, anonymous and pseudonymous publications, works of government and works of international organisations, the 60-year period is counted from the date of publication..."
