The Trump Text Logo file has some erroneously sourced information in the filedesc.

The description call says the image is "used on Trump's personal website". The image is used on his campaign website, not his personal (or corporate) website.

Update: In revision 198726040, the author call was corrected by Spartan7W from 'author=Donald J. Trump' to 'author=Donald J. Trump for President' (the campaign website).

Also, the URL in the image-source call targets his campaign website, not his personal or corporate website.

The information is contentious and poorly sourced in that no source directly supports it. (To demonstrate you're not adding WP:OR, you have to be able to cite sources that directly support the material.)

And the information is about a living person - in particular, about his personal logo.

So, it's getting immediately removed per WP:BLPREMOVE.

(Incidentally, it may be fairly common knowledge that the illustrated logo is not Trump's personal or corporate logo.) --Dervorguilla (talk) 21:31, 11 June 2016 (UTC) 21:42, 11 June 2016 (UTC) 06:58, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The logo font used on the airplane is Arial Black, not Franklin Gothic (or whatever). And the font spacing is normal, not expanded. --Dervorguilla (talk) 07:13, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If there is a font difference between the airplane and this image file, the difference is trivial.Anythingyouwant (talk) 14:37, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
1. Of the 5 characters in the airplane logo, 1 ("R") can likely be distinguished by some ordinary Wikipedia readers from the character in the Trump for President logo.
2. The character spacing in the airplane logo is normal. The character spacing in the Trump for President logo is expanded by 8 pt/72 pt. The difference between 0 and 0.11 is significant. So a substantial number of ordinary Wikipedia readers can likely distinguish between the Trump for President logo and the airplane logo.
(If so, the Trump Series template may blur the distinction between the campaign logo used by Trump for President Inc. and the personal logo used by Trump on his airplane.) --Dervorguilla (talk) 18:25, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious

[edit]

The information in the author call seems dubious:

Author: Donald J. Trump (given apparent use on personal aircraft prior to campaign) and Donald J. Trump for President

The alleged fact (that the logo has two authors) may not be accurate. See WP:DISPUTED. --Dervorguilla (talk) 03:42, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The information in the description call seems dubious too.

Description: Logo having the same shape (or virtually the same shape) used on Trump's airplane in 2016...

The alleged fact (that the image has virtually the same shape as Trump's airplane logo) may not be accurate. Compare the character spacing in the airplane logo (normal) with the spacing in the image file (expanded by 8 pt / 72 pt). --Dervorguilla (talk) 04:13, 19 June 2016 (UTC) 04:24, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The illustrated logo is a campaign logo, not a personal logo. It's used by Donald J. Trump for President Inc., not by Trump himself. The font is Franklin Gothic, not Arial Black. The character spacing is expanded (by 8/72), not normal. --Dervorguilla (talk) 04:59, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

arial black
You say that the font on the plane is arial black. Here is what arial black looks like. If you like this better in the Donald Trump article, then I would probably have no objection to it.Anythingyouwant (talk) 11:31, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing the artwork, Anythingyouwant! But to be punctilious, the question is not whether I personally like it.

I believe I've found the logo that Trump personally likes. See Donald J. Trump Leather Accessory Collection logo. This is the logo on the wallet he puts his cash in. For Trump, it doesn't get much more personal than that, wouldn't you say?
And here's the Trump Men's Shirt logo, which (I have to believe) he personally wears, whether or not he's promoting his campaign. (And is likely to keep wearing after the 2016 campaign ends, whether or not he wins.) --Dervorguilla (talk) 08:06, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's any less punctilious for us to use the personal logo on his personal airplane. In fact, using the plane logo is more punctilious because the plane logo is much bigger and more publicized, even assuming that he also personally uses the ones that you point to.Anythingyouwant (talk) 21:42, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here are two interesting and undisputed well-sourced facts, Anythingyouwant:

Stenciling on Trump's personal & business airplane stenciling on Trump's personal & business helicopter Trump's campaign logo (electronic or printed).

I regret to say, I've found no source that either supports or contradicts the disputed claim that the stenciling on an individual's vehicle is, by default, the individual's personal or business logo. Or that his presidential campaign logo is, by default, his personal or business logo.
What I did find: A simple web search for “Donald Trump logo” returns several of Trump's supposed personal or business logos. None of them appear to match the stenciling on either of his vehicles. --Dervorguilla (talk) 05:03, 27 June 2016 (UTC) 04:20, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
