Wilhelm Karl Dohmann (WKD) was a landscape, portrait and still life painter of the late 19th to mid 20th century. He was born in 1876 in Riga, Latvia. He lived and worked in Latvia, Germany, and Argentina and died in Germany after WWII. The exact date and place of death has not been established, yet, so will get amended when found. This painting is of particular interest, as the owner knows that the artist used to rent an apartment in Riga from their great-grandparents, which dates it clearly before 1912 (when WKD left Riga with his family) To help attributing other artwork out there correctly, here is a close-up of the signature of this particular painting.
