Back when this motorcycle was manfuacturered, Yamaha, the leader in innovation in most technology's of the Japanese cycle world and beyond was also the first to copy the V-Twin engine design that Harley Davidson has been using since before 1929. Unlike the copies of today, Yamaha had a style all their own rather than trying to look like an all out Harley Davidson.
