English: Hawley C. White (1850-19...) was an American photographer and publisher who founded H. C. White Co. and from the 1870s through the 1920s was one of the most prominent manufacturers of high quality stereo cards and stereoscopes in the USA. His catalogue exceeded 13,000 items. Most of the images, though, were shot by other photographers hired by White.

Deutsch: Hawley C. White publizierte um 1900 mit seiner Firma H. C. White Co. in den USA Stereoskopien mit einer Vielzahl von Ansichten aus zahlreichen Ländern und Städten der Welt. Es ist anzunehmen, daß die meisten Fotos nicht von White, sondern von anderen Fotografen aufgenommen wurden und über die Firma H. C. White Co. vertrieben wurden. Die Karten sind numeriert und tragen auf der Rückseite zum Teil verschiedensprachige Erläuterungen zu den Szenen auf der Bildseite. Es soll Kataloge gegeben haben, über die man die numerierten Karten bestellen konnte.
