CuSO4 + Ca(OH)2 + 2H2O → CaSO4·2H2O↓ + Cu(OH)2↓English: Sulfur copper sulfuric acid, in the anhydrous state of CuSO4, white crystalline substance, when the water is absorbed becomes blue or blue.
Well soluble in water. The aqueous solution crystallizes in the form of a crystalline crystal CuSO4 · 5H2O blue, known as copper sulfate (blue stone). At temperatures above 96 ° C, in the equilibrium with an aqueous solution passes the trihydrate: CuSO4 · 3H2O. Crystalline hydrate is desiccated by heating in a shallow ceramic dish (household items can be fitted with a ceramic stand under a flowerpot or a bowl for animals) by mixing glass or other heat-resistant non-metallic sticks with careful heating (overheating will lead to gray contamination by deeper decomposition products). Since the residual pressure of water vapor over anhydrous copper sulfate is higher than many other dehydrating substances, it can also be obtained by dewatering crystals in a solution over other water absorbers at normal temperature. Since copper is a low-active metal from sulfate sulfate solutions, it can be displaced by most other metals, for example iron: Fe + CuSO4 → Cu + FeSO4 Therefore, salt, the more solution, should not be stored in a metal utensil. Copper sulfate is widely used for the electrolytic production and refining of copper, the electrolytic coating of copper of other metals, and also in the fight against agricultural pests in the form of a water slurry formed with lime known as Bordeaux liquid: CuSO4 + Ca (OH) 2 + 2H2O → CaSO4 · 2H2O ↓ + Cu (OH) 2 ↓English: Crystal hydrate of copper sulfate |
