80-G-702729: English: Operation Crossroads, July 1946. The Japanese light cruiser Sakawa will be close to the center of the target array when the 1st atomic bomb is dropped at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
The last ship of the Agano class, she was commissioned by the Japanese in November 1944 but never was operational. Photograph released May 29, 1946. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
