The Apollo Lunar Module was the lander portion of the Apollo spacecraft built for the US Apollo program by Grumman to achieve the transit from cislunar orbit to the surface and back. The module was also known as the LM from the manufacturer designation (often pronounced "lem," from NASA's early name for it, Lunar Excursion Module). Since Apollo 5's test of LM were considered so successful, LM 2 was used for drop tests.Nederlands: LM 2 in het National Air and Space Museum, Washington DC.
De maanlander (Lunar module of LM) is het onderdeel van de Apollo-vluchten dat gemaakt was om de eigenlijke maanlanding uit te voeren. Hij werd gebouwd door Grumman en was ook bekend als LM of LEM (Lunar Excursion Module).

Le module lunaire ou LEM (pour Lunar Excursion Module) ou LM (pour Lunar Module)[N 1] est le véhicule spatial utilisé dans le cadre du programme spatial américain Apollo (1961-1972) pour débarquer des hommes sur la Lune. Son rôle est de faire atterrir sur la Lune 2 des 3 membres d'équipage avec des appareils scientifiques, de leur permettre d'y séjourner 2 à 4 jours avant de redécoller pour rejoindre le Module de Commande et de Service (CMS) resté en orbite lunaire et chargé de transporter l'équipage entre la Terre et la Lune
