For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Leipzig, Turn- und Sporttreffen, Diskuswerfen Zentralbild Leipzig (Wlocka) 19.7.1957 Das grosse Turn- und Sprtfest der Jugend findet vom 18. bis 21.7.1957 in Leipzig statt. Im Rahmen des Turn- und Sporttreffens in Leipzig begannen am Freitag vormittag im Zentralstadion die deutschen Leichtathletikmeisterschaften der Jugend. UBz: Neuen deutschen Rekord im Diskuswerfen stellte mit 52,89 m der erst 17-jährige Karl-Marx-Städter Dieter Dehnke auf.
