Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 8. Februar 1952 vom niedersächsischen Innenminister verliehen. Die Mauer versinnbildlicht die rasche Entwicklung der Stadt. Die Pferdeköpfe schmücken die Giebel niedersächsischer Bauernhäuser und sind häufig in hiesigen Wappen zu finden. Der Buchenzweig steht redend für den Ortsnamen; die fünf Blätter stehen für die Stadtteile. |
