Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Bauerschaft Frintrop, seit 1915 Stadtteil von Essen: „In Silber (Weiß), um drei grüne Lindenblätter zur Schildmitte gruppierte rote Häuser mit schwarzem Fachwerk und offenem Rundfenster.“ Das Wappen wurde von Kurt Schweder entworfen und hatte nie offiziellen Charakter. Ende der 1980er Jahre schuf der Heraldiker für alle Essener Stadtteile Wappen. Sie sind inzwischen von der Essener Bevölkerung gut angenommen worden. Frintrop stammt von "Vrilincdorpe" - "Dorf der Freien", eine andere Deutung entstammt der keltischen Sprache und beschreibt ein "Dorf im sumpfigen Land". Das Wappen ist ein sogenanntes "redendes Wappen"; es stellt eine Dorfanlage (Häuser) um eine Dorflinde (Lindenblätter) dar.English: „Argent, around three tilia leaves vert, three houses gules with timbered framework sable and open ocolus, grouped to the middle of the shield.“
The arms were drawn by Kurt Schweder who designed coats of arms for all districts of Essen in die 1980s; they were never official used, but meanwhile recognized by the citizens of Essen and its districts. The arms are canting; Frintrop or "Vrilincdorpe" means "village of free people" or in celtic " village in the marshlands". The arms describe a village (houses) around a tilia tree (tilia leaves). |
