Deutsch: Eine Deutung leitet diese Ortsbezeichnung von "schwenden" ab. Ein "Geschwende" ist ein durch Abbrennen des Gehölzes gewonnenes Stück Land (im Gegensatz zum Roden des Waldes). So zeigt das Ortswappen eine Tanne, aus deren Wurzeln Flammen schlagen.
