Description
Español: Escudo municipal de Santa Olalla del Cala (Huelva): Medio cortado y partido. Primero Castillo; segundo, león; tercero de sinople un árbol de oro terrasado de ondas de plata y azur. Al timbre, corona real cerrada. Significado: El castillo representa la seña de identidad del municipio, el castillo fortaleza que Sancho IV ordenó construir. El león representa la repoblación de la zona por leoneses, principalmente, y gallegos, para defenderla de las incursiones portuguesas, en lo que se denominó La Banda Gallega. El árbol es una encina, piedra angular en la que se basa la mayor riqueza del municipio, muy ligada a la dehesa y la explotación del ganado porcino de raza Ibérica. Las ondas de azur y plata representan el mar, metáfora de la Marina Española, que emplazó un cuartel general en la localidad y unas baterías en su término municipal para defender la zona de las tropas francesas de Napoléon.
