Description
English: Image of two facing pages from Horti medici Amstelodamensis, vol. 1. The open book is displayed atop other books. The illustration faces p. 21, which contains text in Latin. Illustration shows the plant "Euphorbium cerei" from the North African coast. This plant is reputed to be a powerful cathartic.
