This flag is fictitious, proposed, or locally used unofficially. It has not been adopted in an official capacity, and although it may be named as if it was an official flag of a geographical or other entity and have some visual elements that are similar to official logos or flags of that entity, it does not have any official recognition. A flag of this type should not be added to any articles or pages unless it is officially proposed by a government agency, covered by the media, or sees notable local use. |
Summary
[edit]DescriptionFlag of the Tripolitanian Republic (Fictional).svg |
English: Flag of the Tripolitanian Republic (1919-1923), according to worldstatesmen.org.
The worldstatesmen.org website cites no reference explaining whence they derive this design. Compare to this the following comment on Historical Flags of Tripoli at Flags of the World: "In 1917 a republic was proclaimed in Tripoli. The flag had a crescent and star (probably red or green), and was recognized by Italy in 1919. The republic became a sultanate in 1922. I don't know the flag but it was probably the same as that of the republic." (Jaume Ollé, 29 September 1996) |
