Description
English: A Map of Germany (Germaniae Tabula), printed at Basel in 1540 by Sebastian Münster for his Cosmography (Cosmographie) from a woodcut. An extra-Ptolemaic map, facing south.
Deutsch: Germaniae Tabula (Basel 1540) von Sebastian Münster, Cosmographie, Holzschnittkarte. Die Karte ist noch nicht „genordet“, d.h. Süden ist oben und Norden ist unten. Das war zu dieser Zeit die übliche Darstellung.
