  7. Corpus geniculatum laterale
  8. Crus cerebri

The Metathalamus of the Dorsal Thalamus is made up of two nuclei tucked under the Pulvinar. These are the Medial and Lateral Geniculate Bodies.

The Medial Geniculate Body receives input from the Brachium of the Inferior Colliculus and is part of the Auditory Pathway. The Lateral Geniculate Body is part of the Visual Pathway receiving fibers from the Optic Tract. The Lateral Geniculate Body also gives rise to visual reflex fibers which enter the Superior Colliculus via the Brachium of the Superior Colliculus.
