Description
Português: A histórica Paraty carrega uma forte influência religiosa, especificamente católica, vinda de Portugal.

De estilo neoclássico, a Igreja da Matriz sobressai por sua imponência e apresenta a sobriedade e o despojamento característicos deste estilo, em que as grandes massas se contrapõem ao ritmo dos vãos.

Contava a igreja com 7 altares e duas capelas internas. Atualmente, nas suas galerias superiores funciona a pinacoteca Antônio Marino Gouveia.
