Summary[edit]
DescriptionMonument dedicated to victims of years 1932-33 famine.jpg |
English: The monument is erected in Vyshgorod, year 2008. The monument is 4 meters high. Materials: granite, bronze. The suthors are Boris Krylov and Oles Sidoruk. The architector is V. Klimik. Ears and millstones are the bread of life. The ears wraped in a prickle wire are a symbol of artificial, violent hunger. Here is the bread, so desirable, but unattainable, taken away, a prisoner. It can't be reached nor can it beused. Broken millstones underline the fury, the cruelty, the nonsense of performers of this frightful action . It wasn't enough to take away the bread, they needed to destroy the tools that are connected to it, to destroy even hope and possibility to have it one day. |
