Description
Français : Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel, Manche, Normandie, France. Saint Aubert, évêque d'Avranches au VIIIe siècle, voit en songe l'archange Michel qui lui ordonne de construire un sanctuaire sur le mont Tombe. Bas-relief néo-gothique, exécuté en 1860 par le sculpteur Jean-Baptiste Barré pour le tympan du portail sud de l'abbatiale. Retiré par Paul Gout au début du XXe siècle et placé au bas de l'escalier des Maristes.
English: Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, Manche, Normandie, France. Saint Aubert, bishop of Avranches in the 8th Century, saw in dreams Archangel Michael, who ordered him to build a sanctuary on Mount Tomb.
