Summary
[edit]DescriptionSAMPSON-rotation-composite-3.jpg |
English: SAMPSON multi-function AESA battle management radar antenna mounted aboard Royal Navy Type 45 air-defence destroyer HMS Dragon (D35) inbound to Portsmouth Naval Base, UK. This composite of two photographs taken less than one second apart shows the rotation of the back-to-back mounted, twin phased-array antennae incorporated into a single unit. The antenna has rotated approx 120° in approx 0.66 secs. Note that the unit is not actually a true globe; being wider across the face of the phrased-array scanner than between the faces. Image uploaded by me User:George.Hutchinson from a photograph taken by and supplied by Brian Burnell. Attribution online should be in this format Brian Burnell. On the printed page, a simpler form is acceptable - example: "Image: Brian Burnell". |
