Title
The Fires of Revolution: A Roumanian Frontier Guard Watching the Burning of Russian Villages across the Pruth
Description

The fires of revolution: a Roumanian frontier guard watching the burning of Russian villages across the Pruth. The Roumanian authorities have greatly increased their forces on the frontier, as they think it possible that they may have to send troops to protect Roumanian subjects in Russian territory. The Illustration is of a patrol on the banks of the Pruth watching the flames and flashes of rifle-fire. The incident occurred on the evening when a large number of Jews who attempted to cross the Pruth were massacred by Cossacks.
