Description
English: Photograph showing Wilfred Thesiger near the Gulf of Tadjoura (French Somaliland, now Djibouti) taken at the end of his 1933-1934 expedition across Aussa country (Aussa Sultanate), which stood astride the border between Ethiopia and French Somaliland. The expedition is narrated in his book The Danakil Diary. Journeys through Abyssinia, 1930-1934.

This image (or other media file) is in the public domain in Djibouti because its copyright has expired. According to the chapter 3 of copyright law n°154/AN/06/5ème L (in French), copyright expires 50 years after author's death (art. 12).
  • In the case of photographs and applied art works, copyright expires 25 years after the work is created (art. 16).
  • In the case of cinematographic works, copyright expires 50 years after the work is created or released (art. 15).
  • Because of the partially retroactive character of the law and of the terms of the previous copyright law, the works whose authors died before january 1st 1981 and the cinematographic works released before january 1st 1981 are also in the public domain.
