English: Iraq (May 16, 2005) - An F/A-18C Hornet, assigned to the "Argonauts" of Strike Fighter Squadron 147 (VFA-147), receives fuel from the refueling boom of a U.S. Air Force KC-135R Stratotanker from the 319th Air Refueling Wing during a combat mission flown from the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group was conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf. Carl Vinson ended its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and will conduct a three-year refuel and complex overhaul. |

USS Carl Vinson (May 16, 2005) -- An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Argonauts" of Strike Fighter Squadron 147 (VFA-147) refuels with an Air Force KC-135 tanker over Iraq. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Arabian Gulf. The strike group is conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Gulf in order to set the conditions for security and stability in the region.
