Summary

[edit]
Description
Română: While the Germans still occupied Bucharest a representative of the American Red Cross succeeded in entering the city. He found the hospitals filled with sick and wounded and the civil population in great need of food and clothing. The man who gained entrance to the capitol was Major J.B. Bayne of Washington, D.C., a member of the American mission to Roumania. Major Bayne is the best loved American in Roumania. In the picture he is shown receiving a delegation of peasants who have walked a long distance to his quarters to ask for medical attention.
