Summary
[edit]DescriptionWhite-eyed vireo (Vireo griseus bermudianus) in Fiddlewood (Citharexylum spinosum), Bermuda.jpg |
English: A Bermuda White-eyed Vireo Vireo griseus bermudianus in a Fiddlewood Citharexylum spinosum tree, on the northern side of Vesey Street in Devonshire Parish, Bermuda. The vireo is an endemic sub-species threatened with extinction since "The Blight" of the 1940s that caused the loss of millions of the endemic Bermuda Junipers Juniperus bermudiana that had densely forested the archipelago until then. The Fiddlewood is an invasive species introduced to Bermuda in the 1830s by Archdeacon Aubrey Spencer.[1][2][3] |
