This image has been substantially altered in photo editing software, and is therefore not technically a 'directly photographed image'. The left forearm has been replaced (the paw seems to have been lost in the process), and signs of editing are clearly visible immediately to the left of the cat's face, where duplication of the whiskers occurs - this is a symptom of the use of a 'clone stamp' process to replace one part of an image with another.

While a certain amount of photo editing is often acceptable, in this case it has actually changed the anatomy of the animal that the image purports to represent faithfully. Given the widespread use of this image as reference, perhaps it should be replaced by the original photo, or at least be labeled as a doctored image.
