Baklava from a Greek festival in US

[edit]
Baklava and ice cream

Naturally everybody has the right to make and eat baklava but the form of this food (file taken from EN:WP) has little to do with the tradional forms of baklava as it is made in Turkey. I added above a conventional baklava from Gaziantep, famous for its cuisine in general and especially for its baklava. (The cuisine of Gaziantep has been recognized by the UNESCO.) The other type or form of baklava is the one made in Beypazarı (and other places, including at homes) is like you see at this file. Of course it is not only a "form" issue, the filling of the baklava (nuts or a kind of pudding) is between the layers, inside. Not outside like this. This is something more than form because it will change the result (taste) of the cooked food. Certainly this piece was on a "plate of desserts" (as may be seen at the original upload) and most probably work of an amateur or housewife cooking. Regrettably the file has the exact name "Baklava" and for this or other reasons is being used in many Wikipedias as the main image and confusing people who read those WPs as if this is what baklava is about. Regrettable. IMHO, of course. E4024 (talk) 01:22, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
