Hello

I think that this is not Cassida viridis. This species has a pronotum width shorter than the elytra width and the elytral punctuation is mixed (without clear punctuation lines).

I'm not able to identify the species with certainty (ventral face needed) but it could be Cassida rubiginosa (common species in France on thistle).

I believe @GillesSM: is right. According to this, C. viridis has a pronotum with rounded rear corners; the two species can be compared here and here-here, where the differences (both those pointed out by GillesSM and those noted in my link) are clear. Also, the dark spots where the pronotum and the elytra meet seems to be typical of C. rubiginosa too (compare also other photos in the respective categories). -- Syrio posso aiutare? 22:26, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I moved the image and corrected its description; I have already addressed its usage in the other Wikimedia projects: I replaced it in the pages specifically about C. viridis, and just changed the caption in the rest. -- Syrio posso aiutare? 14:02, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
