We have had several Cleyera Japonica shrubs in our garden for the last 15 years. They have been healthy in every way. Until this week. We noticed today that one had died suddenly -- every leaf was brown, curled, and dried. This was not the case several days ago when we were outside in the garden near the bush. None of the other shrubs show any sign of ill health, so we are at a loss what could have happened to it (so localized) in such a short period of time. None of the environmental conditions had changed -- water, shade, temperature were all consistent. We had not sprayed anything in the area, nor had we applied any other chemical to anything nearby. Any ideas?
