"Continental United States" misnomer[edit]

Should actually be the "Contiguous United States" or "Lower 48". AnonMoos (talk) 14:00, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies[edit]

I know this map is supposed to be a simplification, but it's frustratingly inaccurate in places. The West Coast (the westernmost parts of Oregon and Washington) is shown as Cfb, oceanic climate, but technically a lot of it is Csb, cool-summer Mediterranean, because the summer rainfall is so low. The Dfb zone, cool continental climate, extends down the eastern part of South Dakota and into southern Minnesota, but in reality most southern Minnesota and eastern South Dakota are warm continental: the July average temperature is above 22 C. This map needs to be corrected or replaced with a new one. A more accurate map can be seen here on the Iowa State University website. — Eru·tuon 23:00, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
