Hello @Ellywa, I saw that you closed the discussion on the deletion of the 2013 Commonwealth Flag here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_in_Category:Flag_of_the_Commonwealth_of_Nations
You mentioned that it should be okay to use the old design that was originally adopted in 1976. I have discovered that the trademark on the logo has expired in the United Kingdom. The logo itself was designed in 1972, and it should be covered by Crown copyright due to the Commonwealth being under the purview of the monarch. In any case, the only form of intellectual property protection I could find reference to is the expired trademark on a Government of Canada website. All sources are listed in the file summary.
I was hoping you might be available to take a look at this and determine if it is okay for this file to stay up. Thank you for your time. UAmtoj (talk) 04:28, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
