Euglena mutabilis is a species that lacks an emergent flagellum, so this specimen is certainly misidentified. In fact, it seems possible that we are actually seeing 2 flagella (focus is unclear), which could put this in the genus Eutreptia or Eutreptiella. Deuterostome (talk) 17:13, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
