39th

[edit]

I may easily be misremembering where I stood, but it seems to me we're looking at a westbound, odd numbered street, and if we're looking at 39th then I must have been standing at an even numbered street such as 40th. Jim.henderson 19:59, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think you must have stand between 39th and 40th (see Google maps). I changed it to 39th, because the sculpture is on that corner, but I don't insist, feel free to change back. Or maybe we might use a phrase like "looking to 39th Street" or similar. Hu:Totya (talk!) 23:13, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. On my way back from en:Far Rockaway, Queens today I steered my bicycle to this spot for another look, though not for another picture with Sun setting and light bad. Yes, I was standing closer to 40th than 39th. Maybe I ought to reshooot from a greater distance and use the zoom to equalize the size of the subjects. As a beginning photographer I have many tricks to learn. I generally write the image summary to describe the photo and the process of taking it, rather than the subject, which is described in the subject article in Wikpedia. My hope is that a better photographer, knowing what I did right and wrong, can take a better picture. Thank you for your advice. Jim.henderson 03:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
