U are not looking at/into the pictures/images. Like this caption, "A man painting an image of himself." No, the picture is already framed.

If I was a writer, I might be able to explain it ... maybe. I tried photography long enough to have too many pictures. Text fits nicely in books and webpages. Pictures fit better in Google/Bing image searches. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=picture&FORM=HDRSC2
