There is as 3150 x 2400 pixel TIFF version available, that should be used for SVG conversion.

If converted, the person image, water's edge and ameoba should if possible be converted as separate objects so they can be used as clip art. (There is at least one other image in Wikipedia using a varient of the person and water's edge images).

If possible, offer the converted diagram back to the NIH.
