I'm sorry, but you misunderstand. I refuse to believe that this logo is GPL until I see a written permission directly from Linksys. Extracting it from "GPL code" doesn't make the logo GPL; it is clearly copyright, and you logic isn't proof. Until you show written proof directly from Linksys, do not mark this as free. 76.199.87.173 03:40, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not just mark it as a copyvio. But open a deletion request. This was all discussed before. If you have new arguments you are welcome to present them in the deletion request process. --ALE! ¿…? 08:43, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I made a written inquire to linksys-opensource@linksys.com in order to really find out if this is GPL. However, the code doesn't look like the logo, and the logo is not the code, and the gpl code doesn't make the logo gpl. If one logo was gpl, all of their logos would be gpl. Let's wait for a response from Linksys...76.201.20.48 18:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did not receive a response. If you wish to claim their logo as being GPL, you can contact them yourself to try to get written proof. 76.201.20.255 01:22, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please file a new deletion request. In the meantime I will revert your last edits. --ALE! ¿…? 13:22, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with the image is not specifically that it shouldn't be on the commons (though perhaps that is the case, since there is an SVG linksys logo on Wikipedia); the problem is that it is claimed to be GPL without written proof from Linksys. I think that it wouldn't be deleted if the reason given is simply that it is not under the license it claims. Althepal 18:04, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
