This image gives the impression that the Oresund straight between Zealand and Sweden is huge. See for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Carte-Danemark-Su%C3%A8de-%C3%98resundsbron.png for a better idea of how close it is.

That is because one of Denmark's largest islands - Zealand - is missing. Don't know why. Valentinian ^(talk) 11:27, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
