Who is that kid ?

[edit]
This picture was probably painted in 1710-1711. Some say that the kid is the grand grand son of Louis XIV, the duke of Anjou, later king Louis XV, because some claim that this is a symbolic evocation of the Bourbon dynasty.
But at the time of this picture, the eldest brother of the duke of Anjou, Louis, duke of Brittany, was the heir apparent, and was stil alive, like all the Princes on the painting. The Grand Delphin died in 1711, his son the Little Delphin, duke of Burgundy, died in february 1712, and the kid, duke of Brittany (maybe) died a few days later, in march 1712, aged 5. King Louis XIV died in september 1715.
In 1710-1711, it is impossible to exclude the young duke of Brittany out of the royal succession, because he is stil alive !
Furthermore, born in 1710, the duke of Anjou seems to be too young to look like he looks on the painting in the same, or following, year. He was a very young baby, not walking yet !
Or, the picture was made very later, and then, everything is possible.
Does somebody here have a good answer ? Who is that kid ?--Jebulon (talk) 22:08, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you believe the Wallace Collection (why not), the painting is more recent 1715-1720, in which case it is probably L XV. The Wallace says: This picture was painted to celebrate the role of the duchesse de Ventadour in ensuring the continuation of the Bourbon dynasty. She is shown leading the duc d’Anjou, the future Louis XV (1710-74), whom she saved during the measles epidemic of 1712. They are surrounded by his forebears: Henri IV (1553-1610) is represented in a bust on the left; Louis XIII (1601-43) in a bust on the right; Louis XIV (1638-1715) sits in the centre of the picture; Louis, the Grand Dauphin (1661-1711), stands leaning against his father’s chair; and on the right stands Louis XIV’s grandson and the duc d’Anjou’s father, Louis, duc de Bourgogne (1682-1712). The wealth and power of the dynasty is underlined by the palatial setting which evokes Versailles and its Apollonian imagery. Riyadi (talk) 21:56, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
