Subject is incorrectly identified.[edit]

This is not a depiction of Xi Wangmu but rather Magu, another Chinese Immortal. Magu is easily identified as she is always accompanied by a young spotted deer, and usually carries a basket or has a young attendant carrying her basket of peaches and other symbols of immortality (such as the lingzhi mushroom she is holding here). "Magu and her fawn" is a very common motif and a frequently used porcelain design. See samples in the Metropolitan Museum (NYC) and elsewhere.
