Wrong symbol[edit]

The symbol that is shown is a Schottky Barrier diode. It has 2 bends in the cathode bar, both 90-degrees, one up, one down. For a Zener or avalanche diode, the bends should be 45-degrees. See the Sparkfun site here . To be technically complete, the ISO standard symbol has only one bend, at 90-degrees. See the Circuits Today site here.

That is incorrect. According to ANSI Y32.2-1975 and IEEE Std. 315-1975, the bends on a Zener diode symbol are to be at right angles. Moreover, per IEC drawing standards, the triangle is to be a filled equilateral triangle IEEE Std. 315-1975, § 8.2.2). — Quicksilver@ 17:37, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
