English: The MAS model 36 was the last bolt-action rifle to be standard in French military service. It was adopted in 1936 to mostly replace the Berthier and Lebel series of service rifles. It was manufactured at the French government arms factory, the Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Etienne (MAS).
